The Sunshine Circle
This group keeps contact with the sick and shut-ins through cards, calls, and visits.
They meet at Heathsville UMC on the second Wednesday of each month at 10:00 am.

Semi-Annual Spaghetti Dinners...
are part of Heathsville UMC’s mission in ministry. The ladies and men of the congregation work together in these fundraisers to support our Needy Family Fund. Check our calendar for dates and times.
This fund provides resources to families in financial hardship and is done hand-in-hand with The Link.

Chesapeake Bay Garden Club
The Chesapeake Bay Garden Club recently moved and will be meeting at Heathsville UMC for both its regular monthly and board meetings, as well as special events. Dates and times are usually posted on the church calendar

Alcoholics Anonymous
A.A. has been helping alcoholics recover for more than 80 years. A.A.’s program of recovery is built on the simple foundation of one alcoholic sharing with another.
A.A. has a regular meeting at Heathsville UMC on Saturday nights at 8:00 pm.
Community Partners & Missions
- The Link is a non-profit organization designed to connect people with the resources needed to become more independent. It is a partnership of churches and helping agencies that functions as a centralized information and referral service for residents of Lancaster and Northumberland Counties in Virginia.
- Interfaith Service Council – Serving families in Northumberland and Lancaster Counties since 1982 with minor home repairs, building wheelchair ramps, providing household furnishings, and offering financial assistance for rent, utilities, food, and other emergencies. Our goal is to supplement and not duplicate other established service programs in Northumberland and Lancaster.
- The Haven Shelter & Services, Inc. is committed to preventing and eliminating all types of domestic violence and sexual violence within our service area, which includes Westmoreland, Richmond, Essex, Lancaster and Northumberland Counties.
- The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), the humanitarian relief and development arm of The United Methodist Church, assists United Methodists and churches to become involved globally in direct ministry to persons in need. UMCOR comes alongside those who suffer from natural or human-caused disasters – famine, hurricane, war, flood, fire or other events—to alleviate suffering and serve as a source of help and hope for the vulnerable. UMCOR provides relief, response and long-term recovery grants when events overwhelm a community’s ability to recover on their own.
- Lancaster/Northumberland Habitat for Humanity – Lancaster/Northumberland Habitat for Humanity began in 1998 as the local Habitat affiliate. Since that time, we have constructed 21 homes and served hundreds of families. Families and individuals in need of a hand-up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves. Through shelter, we empower.
- Northumberland Family YMCA – The YMCA is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
- The National Child Safety Council (NCSC) – It’s mission is to prevent needless accidents and to help save lives by providing local law enforcement departments with meaningful safety educational materials and programs for children, adults, and seniors.
- The Northern Neck Free Health Clinic – “Provides health care to persons living in the Northern Neck Region and Middlesex County of Virginia who are uninsured or under-insured and cannot reasonably be expected to pay for such care.”
- United Methodist Family Services (UMFS) is a child and family serving nonprofit dedicated to building stronger communities throughout Virginia. We offer a range of essential services, including foster care, residential treatment, private day school, and various community-based programs.
- Heifer International – Works in 19 countries around the world alongside local farmers and business owners. Heifer International supports farmers and their communities as they mobilize and envision their futures, provide training so they can improve the quantity and quality of the goods they produce, and connections to market to increase sales and incomes.
- Callao Volunteer Fire Department – Serves Northumberland County. Volunteers respond to fire emergencies, vehicle accidents, and assist with Emergency Medical Services.
- Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department – Serves Northumberland County as an all volunteer fire department.
- Mid-County Volunteer Rescue Squad – Provides quality emergency medical services; acts as a stabilizing force to deliver patients safely, with dignity and compassion.
- The Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Neck (BGCNN) strives to provide affordable, safe, diverse, and mission-driven programs for youth ages 6 to 18. This is accomplished through tested, proven, measurable Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) programs, as well as by providing a fun atmosphere for youth to learn and grow. We are currently serving Lancaster, Northumberland, and Richmond County.
- Gleamers and Blenders is connected locally with the Healthy Harvest Food Bank for food distribution. It is located at 16097 Northumberland Highway in Reedville, Virginia. Their distribution dates and times are the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Thursdays at 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
- Hospice Support Services of The Northern Neck is a senior living provider in Warsaw, VA that offers residents a variety of services. They assist residents of Lancaster, Northumberland, Richmond and Westmoreland Counties with in-home support to enable those suffering with life-altering illnesses, i.e. cancer, heart disease, stroke or serious accidents. Support is provided at no cost to the patient. Hospice Support Services of the Northern Neck is a non-profit senior care provider.
